I just wanted to give you an update as to how it went down in Orlando Florida last week. First off, I want to say that the site is very well maintained and I was very impressed with the grounds.
I was able to sit with the staff at Tradewinds and observe all of the hard work they do to keep the place running smoothly and efficiently with Catherine Green’s guidance and I can tell you that the work and effort shows in the grounds and maintenance.
The staff are going that extra mile, in my opinion to ensure that everything is kept clean and that any and all issues are dealt with in a timely fashion.
I also had the opportunity to view a private owners unit to see why they are trying to rent approximately $250.00 less then what we are renting. The unit was in decent shape, however the previous renters were only there for 15 days so to put that into context, I believe our units are definitely better maintained and to me it shows that the level of tenants these private owners are attracting are not there for the long haul. Some of our units have had tenants in there for 2 to 3 years with no plans on leaving. Having said that, I believe the strategy that EQB has implemented to get quality tenants is starting to pay off.
I was able to speak with 2 owners who were very pleased with the changes that Catherine and the board have implemented, the biggest one being the security cameras which were being installed while I was there which was great to see. I feel it is extremely important to give the people at Tradewinds that sense of security and comfort knowing that the grounds are being monitored by the Orlando Police Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
I was also able to inspect some of the units and was very pleased at how well maintained they were. Again, I believe that this will bring a sense of community to the owners and  tenants to see that EQB does care about the people and that they are committed to continuing to deliver the quality and products and continued service that we’ve come to expect.
